Obama's Early Warning

The most chilling words of Barack Obama yet revealed are these:

. . . if you’re going to be in the way of change, get out of the way – we’re pushing you aside. Very politely of course. That’s how we win elections.

This candid and stunning revelation of Obama’s secret game plan was reported in The Weekly Standard by Jonathan Last (What Obama Means By Unity, 2/18/08).

When I first read this, it took my breath away, exposing as it does the lies inherent in Obama’s self-portrayal as a unifier, ready to “reach across the aisle” and heal the “divisive bitterness” of our “one United States of America.” His civility and politeness are calculated deceits – necessary to win elections, but sheer masquerade for Obama who intends to “push aside” anyone perceived as “in the way of change.” And this in a democracy, where political opponents need only be outvoted in order to achieve one’s goals!

To my astonishment and dismay, I have neither seen nor heard any reference to Obama’s candid revelation since the TWS article appeared eight months ago (despite my being a “news junkie” who is retired and spends several hours a day watching FNC and reading TWS, NR, Human Events, Townhall, and other conservative material).

If widely known, Obama’s self-incrimination should be even more destructive to his campaign than his infamous remark about clinging “to guns or religion,” which Obama called his “biggest boneheaded move” in a recent interview (Matt Bai, NYT Magazine, 10/19/08).

Further evidence of Obama’s closed mind and contempt, even belligerence, toward those who disagree with him was reported by Kathleen Hennessey, AP, on 9/17/08. At a rally in Elko, NV, Obama urged his followers to

go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors . . . whether they are Independent or . . . Republicans. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.

“Getting in someone’s face” is not a civil method of persuasion, but an antagonistic method of intimidation. It therefore appears that, like many liberals and most leftists, Obama feels that anyone intelligent enough to understand but who disagrees with him must be immoral, thereby deserving contempt and even hostility. Considering how impolitic it was for Obama to reveal this, it appears that he has a powerful, angry side that many voters would find repellent, even dangerous to our democracy.

Two distinguished analysts have recently offered trenchant, complementary observations about Obama on Townhall. In The Stealth Candidate (10/10/08), David Limbaugh noted that

Disturbingly, Obama’s candidacy is inspiring certain youths to perform paramilitary drills in his honor, public officials to threaten criminal prosecution of those who criticize him, and attorneys purporting to be working for his campaign systematically to intimidate local election officials. With this mentality, is there any doubt the Obamaites would try to shut down conservative talk radio with the “Fairness Doctrine”?

In The Coming Obama Thugocracy (10/11/08), Michael Barone began by quoting Obama’s injunction to supporters to “get in their face,” and noted that

Obama supporters are doing a lot more than getting into people’s faces. They seem determined to shut people up.

Barone then described several diverse and egregious threats to free speech, concluding that

Obama supporters . . . . seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech that they don’t like and seem utterly oblivious to claims that this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment. In this campaign, we have seen the coming of the Obama thugocracy . . .

Both writers remind me of Paul Revere, riding through the night to alert a sleeping nation. American liberty is in danger as never before. Leftists reject freedom of speech, agreeing with Noam Chomsky that some thoughts are so abhorrent that no one should be allowed to express them. Campus leftists who silence conservative speakers are moved by their consciences to do so, and are by no means alone in their views.

If Obama is elected, he will have dominant majorities in both houses of Congress, and will appoint at least two liberal/left Supreme Court Justices. The Orwellian “Employee Free Choice Act” will become law, greatly increasing union membership and political contributions to Democrats. ACORN and similar groups will receive greater funding to register more Democrats, and the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” will be exhumed to silence conservative talk-radio.

With these changes, Obama will win re-election and America will effectively become a one-party state for decades to come. Education from kindergarten to the highest levels will increase its promotion of “social justice” over liberty, and freedom will decline as it has in every leftist state the world has ever seen.

If these concerns seem far-fetched, consider this: the DJIA reach its all-time closing high quite recently, on 10/9/07 (at 14,164). All the reasons for collapse were already in place, most in plain sight - but how many saw it coming?
